This week Pastor Cristina shares a joyful message for Reformation Sunday, grounded in Psalm 46, Romans 3:19–28, and John 8:31–36. The sermon reminds us that faith is not a finished product but a living process of being reformed, renewed, and reshaped by grace.
Drawing from Luther’s legacy, the message celebrates how God continues to reform hearts and communities. Pastor Cristina reflects on the humor and humanity of our search for perfection, reminding us that nothing in creation is static. Like the world around us, we are always changing, learning, and becoming new. To be reformed means being open to transformation—a willingness to grow in faith, humility, and love.
Through the reading from Romans, we hear the truth that we are justified by grace, not by our works. God’s gift of love is freely given, not earned. In John’s Gospel, Jesus declares, “You will know the truth, and the truth will make you free.” That freedom comes when we believe in the truth of grace and live in that truth daily. Pastor Cristina invites the congregation to let go of old burdens, to release what no longer serves, and to embrace life with the freedom Christ offers.
We are called to be “shape shifters”—people open to change and reformation through faith. The truth of Christ liberates us from fear, guilt, and striving for perfection. It empowers us to love boldly, act with compassion, and trust in God’s ongoing renewal of all things. Reformation is not history—it’s happening now, in every heart willing to change.
