How lucky we are to serve such an amazing king!  As we learned last weekend as we celebrated Christ the King Sunday, we serve a king who has freed us from oppression. While Christ is coming to judge the nations, his teachings spell out a kingdom of justice and judgment balanced with radical love, mercy, peace, and forgiveness. This brings me to our Advent season that begins this Sunday (Dec 2, 3:30-6:30 pm). Advent is the time for preparation, and there will be a kick-off party on Sunday to get us ready. Come make your own wreath to take home, help with the greening of the church, and enjoy the fabulous food at the potluck.

I always enjoy this time of year. It is the time of year in which I find myself full of joy. There is always a smile on my face, and I love coming into the church and seeing the tree decorated in the sanctuary and the wreaths hung in the windows. There is a glow, and I believe it is contagious – it’s all about the King!  His birth, death, and resurrection are the greatest gift I could ever receive, and I pray that you find yourself feeling the joy this Advent season.

Joyfully Yours,
Cristina
