Lent Journey: Find Jesus in Life’s Challenges and Triumphs

Join us on a transformative Lent journey with New Church Lutheran Church, as we explore the question, ‘What r u up 2?’ in the light of Jesus’ teachings. This part of the worship series, led by our insightful pastor, delves deep into the heart of the Gospel of John, unveiling the timeless story of seekers like the Greeks, longing to see Jesus.

Discover the rich tapestry of our faith, woven through the historical saga of the Israelites and the unwavering promises made to Abraham, brought to life by the Prophet Ezekiel’s words. This is not just a retelling but a re-experiencing of the scriptures, inviting us to trace our spiritual genealogy and recognize the fulfillment of ancient promises in our present journey.

We revisit the first steps of Jesus’ earliest followers—Andrew, Peter, Nathaniel—and see how Jesus’ presence, often in the most unexpected places, mirrors our own discoveries of faith in daily life. This exploration includes modern parallels that surprise and inspire, showing how timeless Jesus’ message truly is.

Most importantly, this Lent season is an invitation to introspection and recognition—seeing Jesus in our trials, in our moments of need, and importantly, in each other. It’s a call to be reflections of Jesus’ love in the world, to find joy and freedom in God’s forgiveness, and to carry this divine vision into our interactions.

Embark with us as we journey through Lent, finding Jesus in every step, and discovering how we can be Jesus to others in a world that deeply needs compassion and understanding.

We are a small community of about 70 people. Attendance varies at our services, depending on the month, the weather, and/or the occasion. We have people of all ages and backgrounds. While many of us identify ourselves as Lutherans, many also come from other faith communities, some consider themselves agnostic, and some are still discovering (or undecided).
